A coalition of UNT departments invites you to join a screening and conversation of the new award-winning documentary THE CONDOR AND THE EAGLE on April 21 at 6pm (central), via Zoom. The panel will include film protagonists and representatives from two UNT student groups (Lane Barrett of the Native American Students Association and Josselyne Sibrian of the Hispanic/Latinx Student Union) - hosted by The Department of English-Creative Writing, Women's and Gender Studies, Department of Philosophy and Religion, Department of Geography and the Environment, Department of History, Latina/o Mexican American Studies, Department of Spanish, and Honors Hall. PLEASE SHARE THIS INVITATION WIDELY!

This award-winning film shares the stories of Native environmentalists and indigenous women leaders who are catalyzing an unparalleled global response to climate change and environmental injustice. The film documents the negative effects that industry-generated climate change, fossil fuel production and transport have upon indigenous people, low-income communities and our Mother earth.

The panel discussion that follows highlights the coalitions forged in the film and the coalitions that exist and can be expanded on our own UNT campus to fight towards social and environmental justice. The screening is FREE, but any donations will go to the student groups represented on the panel as well as to frontline, grassroots communities.

This event is inclusive, free to all. For those who can afford it, suggested donations on a sliding scale of $15-100 are requested in lieu of a flat ticket price.

Join us to celebrate on the day before Earth Day!
