Thursday Sept 5. 11-2 pm Bienvenido a LMAS! Celebrando nuestro nuevo LCEP major in the LMAS offices (Wooten 162) with food, drinks, prizes and free bling for students.

Thursday, Sept 26, 6:30-9:00 pm "The Importance of the Latino Vote"' public forum/debate between LMAS Professors and Latinx Activists, location still to be determined, reception with drinks and light hors d'oeuvres immediately following the forum/debate.

Thursday, Oct 10, 5-7 pm "Sueños De Esperanza: Stories of Latina Women in Song" featuring Dr. Amy Canchola, UNT graduate in vocal performance, location still to be determined, reception with drinks and light hors d'oeuvres immediately following the performance.

Monday-Sat., Oct 28-Nov 2 Dia de los Muertos Altars, projected locations in Wooten and General Academic Buildings, Eagle Commons Library and Multicultural Center.

Friday, Nov 1, 9-9:50 am "Honoring Our Dead: Dia de los Muertos," Presentation by Dr. Alicia ReCruz, Student Union 305.

Thursday-Friday, Nov 15-16 The Politics of Race, Immigration and Ethnicity Consortium Conference begins Nov 14 at 2 pm with a workshop on "Using GIS in Your Research." The invited evening speaker is Dr. Ron Jarmin, Deputy Director and Chief Operating Officer from the U.S. Census Bureau speaking on "Potential Research Possibilities and Challenges in Using the 2020 Census Data." Nov. 15 will begin at 9 am with research presentations by individual scholars. Be looking for more details about the PRIEC conference -including the call for research presenters, and other logistics - forthcoming in early September.
