Curriculum Vitae

Research in the area of Latina/o and Mexican American Studies:

  • Latinx Social Movements and Political Coalition building
  • Puerto Rican Studies
  • 20th-century Anti-War and Peace Movements

Current Research:

My research investigates how Puerto Ricans participated in multiracial and multiethnic coalitions with religious and political dissenters of war. Puerto Ricans actively shaped their concerns with compulsory military service and worked within the coalition to mold resistance as an interrogation of U.S. society's contradictory messages of freedom and liberty during the Cold War.
