Current Research
I have been involved since April of 2020 in a collaboration between Denton ISD, UNT, and TWU that resulted in the creation of a Bilingual Homework Hotline. Working closely with Denton ISD's bilingual program I lead our collaboration and involve university students who participate as volunteers/helpers providing virtual assistance to school age youth. More than helping with homework, this project is putting critical pedagogy in action extending interdisciplinary action-oriented opportunities for students while centering Latinx families through practices of acompañamiento/accompaniment.
