LMAS Distinguished Lecturer Dr. Jonathan Benjamin-Alvarado: "Which Way to Your America? The Challenge and Opportunity of Growing the Latino Electorate"

We are excited to share that our next guest in the Latina/o and Mexican American Studies Distinguished Lecturer Series will be Dr. Jonathan Benjamin-Alvarado with his lecture "Which Way to Your America? The Challenge and Opportunity of Growing the Latino Electorate".

Dr. Benjamin-Alvarado is a former president of the Latino Caucus in Political Science of the American Political Science Association and has served as the director for the UNO Office of Latino and Latin American Studies. He is a former faculty associate with the University of Georgia's Center for International Trade and Security and the former director of the TEDxUNO program, where he was instrumental in the creation of scholarship and pathway programs at UNO serving first-generation college students and other under-represented groups in law, national security and intelligence, medicine and public service. In September Dr. Benjamin-Alvarado assumed a new role as Special Assistant to the President and Chief Diversity Officer at Texas Christian University.

Dr. Benjamin-Alvarado's lecture will take place Wednesday, October 12th, in University Union Room 406. The reception will begin at 3:00 PM, and the lecture will begin at 4:00 PM. Please email any questions to lmas@unt.edu.
